Re-Tooling Blog

If you have managed to make it here by now, you have probably noticed the place is a little barren.

Well, the blog was originally intended for my muses and ramblings... but, I have proven too busy to consistently contribute, and thus I have now decided to take a different direction with it.  I am hoping in the coming weeks to re-design the blog to highlight my accomplishments, whether they pertain to architecture, art/design, real estate, sustainability, writing, etc.  The end goal is that this will compile all the resources and links available from me on the Internet already.

Just for good measure, here are a couple of my past architectural projects.  Enjoy!

Recognizing cultural diversity key to Cincinnati’s future

For all the efforts towards developing and growing cities, often it is the culture and history of the people that get lost.  This is an important component of what makes cities great, and it is a component that is unfortunately beginning to disappear in many great American cities, including Cincinnati.  In Cincinnati, neighborhoods seem to be losing their cultural uniqueness, and are simply being transformed into population clusters.  Further, it is the negative stereotypes--rather than the positive ones--that seem to persist in these neighborhoods.  This negativity has led to a "me vs. you" culture that brings down the city as a whole.

In this op-ed for UrbanCincy, I fathom that "by better recognizing and marketing what is great about the different neighborhoods in our city, we can begin to change what is often an overall negative attitude into a positive one."
